En el presente artículo se analiza la relación texto-música en el lied “Alles endet, was entsehet” de Hugo Wolf, así como los procedimientos de metaforización sonora que dicha relación conlleva. Se entiende por metáfora sonora la vinculación de determinados gestos musicales con probables significados extramusicales, basados en convenciones culturales. Asimismo, se estudia el texto del lied en relación al concepto de vanitas y a la cosmovisión medieval sobre la muerte, observando cuáles son los procedimientos compositivos que metaforizan dichos conceptos.
In this paper we analyse the text-music relation in the lied “Alles endet, was entsehet” by Hugo Wolf, as well as the sonorous metaphorization procedures that those relations carry. By “metaphor”, we understand the relation of certain musical gestures with probable extramusical meanings, based upon cultural conventions. Also, we study the text of the lied in relation to the concept of vanitas, and to the medieval cosmovision about the dead, observing which are the compositional procedures that those concepts metaphorize.
