This final degree project aims to address the challenges faced by various areas of the city of General Roca, particularly its outskirts. These areas are characterized by irregular urban layouts, uncontrolled urban development, limited public facilities, and high levels of social stigmatization. This highlights the need to rethink the role of sports facilities within the neighborhood and the city, leading to the central question guiding the project: how can architecture, through the design of sports and educational infrastructure, transform a fragmented and underutilized site into a space of neighborhood cohesion and social inclusion? This Integrated Sports Center project seeks to reverse this situation through an architectural intervention that reinforces the existing sports infrastructure, incorporating spaces for educational, recreational, and training support. Furthermore, it aims to open the site to the city and encourage community ownership, creating pathways and meeting areas that promote integration among different neighborhoods. The ultimate goal is for sport to once again function as an engine of social cohesion, inclusion, and community building.
El presente trabajo final de grado, tiene por objeto ofrecer respuestas a distintas áreas de la ciudad de General Roca, especialmente en las periféricas, se identifican zonas urbanas con tramas irregulares, desarrollo urbano descontrolado, escaso equipamiento público y altos niveles de estigmatización social. Surge la necesidad de repensar el rol del equipamiento deportivo dentro del barrio y de la ciudad, planteando la pregunta central que guía el proyecto: ¿cómo puede la arquitectura, a través del diseño de infraestructura deportiva y educativa, transformar un predio fragmentado y subutilizado en un espacio de cohesión barrial e inclusión social? El presente proyecto de Centro Deportivo Integrador busca revertir esa situación mediante una intervención arquitectónica que refuerce la infraestructura deportiva existente, incorporando espacios de apoyo educativo, recreativo y formativo. Pero, además, busca abrir el predio a la ciudad e incentivar la apropiación vecinal, generando recorridos y áreas de encuentro que promuevan la integración entre los distintos barrios. El objetivo final es que el deporte vuelva a funcionar como motor de cohesión social, inclusión y construcción de comunidad.
