Representaciones sociales del big data y la inteligencia artificial: una exploración estructural

En este trabajo se busca explorar las representaciones sociales en torno al big data y la inteligencia artificial. Para ello se realizó una encuesta con una técnica de asociación de palabras o evocaciones con estudiantes universitarios argentinos y graduados recientes de distintas ramas del conocimiento (N=335 para big data y 255 para inteligencia artificial). Nos preguntamos por los sentidos a los que se asocian ambos fenómenos, la estructura de su representación, las similitudes y diferencias entre sí y con otros fenómenos, los posibles temas que se infieren, y los posibles posicionamientos diferenciales. Los resultados indican la preeminencia de sentidos ligados a la información (big data) y los robots (ai), conviviendo con nociones positivamente valoradas, como el conocimiento, y con referencias a problemas sociales, negativamente valorados, como el desempleo y el control social.
This work seeks to explore the social representations of big data and artificial intelligence. A survey was carried out with a word association technique, with Argentine university students and recent graduates of different branches of knowledge (N=335 for big data and 255 for artificial intelligence). We explore the meanings to which both phenomena are associated, the structure of their representation, the similarities and differences between them and with other phenomena, the possible themes that are inferred, and the possible differential positions of the groups. The results indicate the predominance of senses linked to information (big data) and robots (ai), coexisting with positively valued notions, such as knowledge, and with references to negatively valued social problems, such as unemployment and social control.
