La región como modo de lectura: Los alcances de la teoría

Este trabajo reflexiona sobre los alcances de la teoría para dar cuenta de los distintos problemas que suscita la categoría literatura regional. Partimos desde la consideración de que región no es una categoría teórica que determina una realidad dada de antemano, sino más bien un modo de lectura que invita a replantear los criterios con los cuales seleccionamos y leemos la literatura que se escribe en las regiones. El concepto permite pensar en la actitud de un/a artista que lee y convierte una realidad geográfica y simbólica en materia de escritura, y en la actitud del lector/a que, frente a ciertos textos literarios, puede reconocerse en la tensión entre discurso y referencia. En este ensayo reflexionamos sobre dicho concepto, a partir del diálogo con las nociones de teoría y literatura (Culler, 1997; Podlubne, 2017; Dalmaroni, 2008, 2015, 2018; Gerbaudo, 2011) y de la consideración de algunas intervenciones críticas de Argentina que se ocupan del problema de la literatura regional (Kaliman, 1994; Sosa, 2011; Gramuglio, 1984; Foffani y Mancini, 2000).
This work analyzes the scope of the theory to account for the different problems raised by the category of regional literature. We start from the idea that region is not a theoretical category that determines a preexisting or given in advanced reality, but rather a reading mode that invites us to rethink the criteria with which we select and read the literature that is written in the regions. The concept allows us to think about the attitude of an artist who reads a geographical and symbolic reality and turns it into a writing matter, and also about the attitude of a reader who, when faced with certain literary texts, recognized himself in the tension between discourse and reference. In this essay we reflect on the concept of region from the dialogue with the notions of literature and theory (Culler, 1997; Podlubne, 2017; Dalmaroni, 2008, 2015, 2018; Gerbaudo, 2011) and some critical interventions from Argentina dealing with the problem of regional literature (Kaliman, 1994; Sosa, 2011; Gramuglio, 1984; Foffani y Mancini, 2000).
