El siguiente artículo indaga sobre la reconfiguración de la práctica de lectura a partir del surgimiento de Internet, tomando como disparador la noción de hipertexto y cuestionando la concepción que se tiene del mismo: ¿Es una característica del soporte o es más bien una actividad de tipo interpretativa, que tiene su origen en la literatura? Se realiza un recorrido por los conceptos de texto, autor, lectura, lector, hipertexto e Internet, a fin de trazar conexiones pertinentes.La práctica de lectura en Internet conlleva ciertos cambios, sin embargo, el más relevante radica en un abordaje cualitativo de la red: ¿Quién puede conectarse?, ¿Quién lee en Internet?
The following article analyses the reconfiguration of reading since the appearance of the Internet, taking the hypertext notion as a trigger and questioning its concept: is it a characteristic of the technological medium or is more an interpretative activity, which has its origins in literature? The concepts of text, author, reading, reader, hypertext and Internet are examined in order to trace the appropriate connections. Reading on the Internet implies certain changes, however, the most relevant lies in a qualitative analysis of the web: who can have access to it? Who reads on the Internet?
