Propuesta de Laboratorio de Software Libre para Estadística. Desarrollo de una experiencia educativa en la FICH-UNL

El presente trabajo, propone la realización de un Proyecto Educativo para la creación de un espacio en la Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias Hídricas de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (FICH-UNL), destinado a ofrecer una experiencia vinculada al uso y apropiación del Software Libre (SL), a sus estudiantes de la carrera Ingeniería en Informática (II), como contenido de aprendizaje de Estadística. Existen acciones aisladas relacionadas con el SL, que forman parte del quehacer de las prácticas docentes de algunas cátedras y se espera desde este trabajo, realizar un aporte que contribuya a la creación de dicho espacio, que permita integrar esas acciones junto a otras y enmarcarlas dentro del curriculum de la carrera II. Es necesario aclarar el sentido del recorte que se realiza en este proyecto, con respecto a la Estadística. Si bien, un laboratorio de SL podría trabajar con programas informáticos vinculados a cualquier asignatura -lo cual habilitaría posibles ampliaciones a futuro-, se focalizará aquí en las herramientas informáticas para la enseñanza de la asignatura Estadística. Estas herramientas, así como los requerimientos realizados desde dicha cátedra, jugarán un doble rol, por un lado, como un insumo para las prácticas del laboratorio y, por otro, como una producción del laboratorio que podrá utilizar la cátedra en su propuesta de enseñanza. La conexión con la Estadística, permitirá pensar futuras aplicaciones para otras disciplinas, estableciendo un antecedente importante en cuanto a la vinculación y cooperación con otros espacios como la Tecnicatura Universitaria en Software Libre (TUSL), con la potencialidad de crear nuevas herramientas libres para la Facultad. El Laboratorio propone un recorrido de aprendizaje que pretende generar las condiciones para comprender el mundo desde otra perspectiva.
This paper proposes the realization of an Educational Project for the creation of a space within the Facultad de Ingeniería y Ciencias Hídricas - Universidad Nacional del Litoral (FICH-UNL), intended to offer an experience linked to the use and appropriation of Free Software (FS) to its students in the Computer Engineering (II) degree program, as learning content for Statistics. There are isolated actions related to FS that form part of the teaching practices of some courses, and this work is expected to contribute to the creation of this space, allowing these actions to be integrated with others and framed within the curriculum of the II degree. It is necessary to clarify the scope of the focus made in this project regarding Statistics. Although an FS laboratory could work with computer programs related to any subject—which would enable possible future expansions—this work will focus here on the computing tools for teaching the Statistics course. These tools, as well as the requirements made by that course, will play a dual role: on the one hand, as input for the laboratory's practical sessions, and on the other, as a product of the laboratory that the course can use in its teaching proposal. The connection with Statistics will allow for thinking about future applications for other disciplines, establishing an important precedent regarding the linkage and cooperation with other areas, such as the University Technician in Free Software (TUSL), with the potential to create new free tools for the Faculty. The Laboratory proposes a learning path that aims to generate the conditions for understanding the world from a different perspective.
