El artículo explora las relaciones entre biografía y ensayo a partir la lectura de "La operación Masotta", de Carlos Correas. La reflexión en torno al estatuto genérico del libro es recurrente entre los lectores especializados. “Biografía imposible”, “biografía ensayística”, “ensayo biográfico” son algunas de las cláusulas preferidas para caracterizarlo. La forma que el vínculo entre biógrafo y biografiado asume en La operación Masotta es la oportunidad de examinar y argumentar el parentesco que, por la vía de los modos y recursos de la conversación mundana, biografía y ensayo mantienen desde por lo menos el siglo XVIII. La importancia que Correas le atribuye a la anécdota en la escritura biográfica participa de la tradición que aproxima ambos géneros.
This article explores the relationship links between biography and essay based on the reading of "La operación Masotta", by Carlos Correas.
