El Romanticismo, como periodo histórico, nos aporta conceptualmente muchos de los valores del Arte Moderno y del Arte Contemporáneo. Atendiendo a su motor generatriz, los sentimientos, y entendido como una reacción a la prepotencia racional de su tiempo, el Romanticismo debe ser observado, entre otros muchos aspectos, en su afinidad a los principios y a los valores, en numerosos ámbitos y áreas de conocimiento, de una gran cantidad de creadores actuales. Sus principios definitorios hoy no pierden vigencia porque nos invitan a entender el arte y la creatividad como un cuestionamiento reaccionario frente a modelos y a estereotipos diseñados desde intereses, en absoluto, acordes a las cualidades del sentir.
Romanticism, as a historic period, provides us with lots of values of the Modern and Contemporary Art. Paying attention to its driving force, feelings, and understood as a reaction to the rational arrogance of its time, Romanticism should be looked at because of its affinity to principles and values, in several fields and areas of knowledge, of a great number of current creators. Its defining principles are nowadays still valid since they invite us to understand the art and creativity as a question in reaction to models and stereotypes designed according to interests that adjust to the qualities of feeling.
