Abstract: In the Year of the Rosary (October 2002-October 2003), when the Holy Father Juan Pablo II has highlighted “Mary Holy Rosario” as a “treasury to be recovered”, a first approach is offered between the elements contributed by history and the evolution of the Church in America and the several manifestations evidencing, in popular-traditional culture, the devotion to Our Mercy of Rosario as one of the preferred Marian devotion.
