Resumen: Dante nos guía a través del Infierno, del Purgatorio y del Paraíso enseñándonos cuáles serán las consecuencias de nuestro obrar. Así, conociendo los castigos que se corresponden a las malas obras, los hombres podremos enderezarnos y buscar actuar correctamente para ser agradables a los ojos de Dios. Mediante el análisis del poema, estudiaremos si el pecado empobrece la dignidad del hombre pecador y cómo puede restablecerse aquella dignidad. Analizaremos también si es necesario el castigo ante el mal obrado, cuál es el fundamento y la naturaleza de aquella pena y cuál debe ser la medida de la retribución. Llegados al Purgatorio, evaluaremos la importante cuestión del perdón y cuál es su relación con la justicia. Estas serán las cuestiones sobre las que reflexionaremos a lo largo de este trabajo y que, sin duda, echan luz sobre toda concepción de la justicia y la pena humana. Comenzaremos por exponer la estructura de la obra, continuaremos con un análisis de cada una de sus partes y nos detendremos en el estudio del Infierno y del Purgatorio. Así, caminando junto a Dante, podremos conocer más acerca de la justicia de Dios.
Abstract: Dante guides us through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, showing us the consequences of our actions. Thus, knowing the punishments that correspond to bad deeds, men can straighten up and seek to act correctly in order to be pleasing God’s eyes. Through the analysis of the poem, we will study whether sin impoverishes the dignity of sinful man, and how that dignity can be restored. We will also analyze whether punishment is necessary in the face of wrongdoing, what is the basis and nature of that punishment, and what should be the measure of retribution. Once we arrive at Purgatory, we will evaluate the important question of forgiveness and its relationship to justice. These are the questions on which we will reflect throughout this work and which undoubtedly shed light on any conception of justice and human punishment. We will begin by explaining the structure of the work, continue with an analysis of each of its parts and stop to study the Inferno and Purgatory. Thus, walking along with Dante, we will be able to learn more about God’s justice.
