This article raises the question of whether Husserl’s phenomenology belongs to the metaphysics of presence by examining the relation between protoimpression and retention. On the one hand, the foundational role of protoimpression indicates continuity between Husserl’s thought and the metaphysics of presence. On the other hand, the co-originary worth ascribed to retention may protect his thought from the criticisms of metaphysics
El problema de la pertenencia o no de la fenomenología de Edmund Husserl a la metafísica de la presencia es abordado desde la cuestion de la relación protoimpresión-retención. Por una parte, el rol fundante atribuido a la fase protoimpresional daría cuenta de una continuidad entre el pensamiento husserliano y la tradición metafísica. Por otra, el valor cooriginario asignado a la retención permitiría desligar dicho pensamiento de las críticas a la metafísica
