La lesbiana y la tradición literaria argentina: Monte de Venus como texto inaugural

El siguiente artículo parte de dos hipótesis: 1) en la década de 1970 emergieron, en la Argentina,una serie de narrativas que presentaron "nuevas" formas de la subjetividad y nuevas expresiones de lo político; 2) los estudios literarios y culturales sobre las construcciones homosexuales han mantenido al análisis de las figuraciones lesbianas cercano al lugar de lo impensable/impensado. Este artículo propone leer Monte de Venus (1976), olvidada novela de Reina Roffé, como pieza fundacional de una tradición literaria queer argentina y se ocupa, específicamente, de los modos en que el texto construye a la voz (de la) lesbiana. Sugerirá que Monte de Venus no sólo (in)augura una posibilidad de futuro para esta voz sino que sería texto clave al momento de tender lazos hacia otros relatos contemporáneos con el objetivo de trazar una incipiente cartografía pasional lesbiana.
The following article stands on two hypotheses: 1) In 1970s Argentina, a number of texts that introduced “new” subjectivities and new political expressions began to appear; 2) the literary and cultural studies of homosexuality have kept lesbian figurations next to the place of the unthinkable/un-thought of. This article suggests that Reina Roffé’s long forgotten novel Monte de Venus (1976) is foundational when considering the possibility of a queer literary tradition in Argentina. It pays special attention to the ways in which the text constructs a lesbian voice and it suggests that Monte de Venus (in)augur(ate)s a future for this voice. In addition, this paper will analyze the novel as a key text that establishes bonds with other contemporary narratives, in order to draw an emergent and impassioned lesbian cartography.
