Partiendo de una meditación de Mario Bellatin sobre lo real en El gran vidrio (2007), el artículo se propone reflexionar sobre los últimos avatares en la discusión del retorno de lo real en la literatura latinoamericana contemporánea – especialmente el acercamiento propuesto por Sandra Contreras apropósito de la obra de César Aira –, por un lado, para preguntarse, por el otro, la posibilidad de pensar un tipo de realismo en la obra del escritor mexicano.
Starting from a meditation of Mario Bellatin about the real in El gran vidrio (2007), the article intends to reflect on the latest avatars in the discussion of the return of the real in the Latin American Literature – especially the approach proposed by Sandra Contreras about the work of César Aira –, on the one hand, to ask, on the other, the possibility of think of a type of realism in the work of the Mexican writer.
