Recuperadas del archivo, las cartas aquí trabajadas revelan relaciones que Ricardo Palma mantenía con diversas escritoras. Enfermedad, trabajo y sostén económico, vocación o impulso, situación de la mujer: los textos hablan sobre la práctica literaria y sus derivas. Y, al mismo tiempo, algo más. En todo caso: ¿qué nos dice, cómo nos interpela, ese corpus epistolar a nosotros, lectores del siglo XXI?
Recovered from the archive, the letters analyzed here reveal the relationships that Ricardo Palma maintained with several women writers. In the letters, correspondents speak, among other topics, of illness, work and economic support, vocation or impulse, and the condition of women in the nineteenth century. They also converse about literary practices and their drifts. My reading of these letters asks: What does this epistolary corpus tell twenty-first century readers about epistolary relationships?
