Argentina y la vuelta al sistema interamericano: el largo camino a Chapultepec

La relación entre Argentina y Estados Unidos atravesó uno de sus más críticos períodos entre 1942 y 1945, cuando persistieron orientaciones disímiles frente a la segunda guerra mundial. El siguiente artículo aborda, trabajando con documentación inédita de ambas cancillerías, la historia de la relación bilateral, entre la conferencia de cancilleres de Río, y la de Chapultepec, en la cual se abrió el camino para el reingreso de Argentina en el sistema interamericano, para la normalización de sus relaciones diplomáticas y para la participación en el cónclave de San Francisco, en el que se fundaría la Organización de las Naciones Unidas. Para entender este proceso es necesario analizar los distintos intereses económicos, políticos, sociales e ideológicos que condicionaron, en esos años, las políticas de Washington y Buenos Aires, y que permitieron, hacia el final de la conflagración mundial, un entendimiento entre ambas cancillerías.
The relationship between Argentina and the United States experienced one of its most critical periods between 1942 and 1945, when dissimilar orientations persisted about the position to the Second World War. This article, working with unpublished documents of both Foreign Ministries, refers to the history of the bilateral relationship up to the reentry of Argentina in the inter-American system, the normalization of diplomatic relations and its participation in the San Francisco Conference, during the fundation ot the Organization of the United Nations. To understand this process is necessary to analyze how the economic, political, social and ideological interests conditioned, in those years, the policies of Washington and Buenos Aires, which allowed, by the end of the world conflagration, an understanding between the two Foreign Ministries.
