Providencia divina y valor ontológico de los singulares: la polémica filosófica tardoantigua y la posición de Orígenes y de Nemesio de Émesa

El presente artículo se enfoca en el debate acerca del alcance de la providencia que se desarrolló entre las escuelas estoicas, platónicas y peripatéticas entre los siglos 1-3 A.C. En ese contexto, se atiende aquí al problema del estatus ontológico de los singulares en el pensamiento de Orígenes de Alejandría y Nemesio de Emesa. Influenciados especialmente por la síntesis realizado por Filón entre las distintas teorías griegas acerca de la providencia y las Escrituras, Orígenes y Nemesio fundamental la consistencia de los seres individuales bajo la tesis de una acción directa divina dirigida a cada uno de ellos. Frente a las tendencias universalistas y necesaristas del pensamiento clásico, los Padres griegos tratan de rescatar el valor metafísico de los individuales como tales.
The present paper focuses on the debate over the scope of providence that took place among the Stoic, Platonic and Peripatetic schools between the first and the third centuries AD. In that context, it deals with the problem of the ontological status of the singulars in the thought of Origen of Alexandria and Nemesius of Emesa. Influenced primarily by the Philonian synthesis of the different Greek theories of providence with that of the Scriptures, Origen and Nemesius ground the consistency of individual beings on the thesis of a direct divine action intended for each of them. Faced with the universalistic and necessitarian tendencies of classical thought, the Greek Fathers tried to rescue the metaphysical value of individuals as such.
