El utilitarismo y la subjetividad moderna: Un estudio crítico desde la filosofía de Hegel

El utilitarismo constituye la filosofía moral de base sobre la que se levanta la teoría económica marginalista, la más aceptada en el campo disciplinar. Diferentes perspectivas han objetado su validez negando que el utilitarismo refleje adecuadamente la realidad intersubjetiva que se pone en actividad a la hora de producir fenómenos económicos. Sin embargo, resulta menos conocida la crítica que puede deducirse del sistema filosófico de Hegel, en particular, de su filosofía del espíritu subjetivo. Este trabajo compara estas dos filosofías morales tomando como eje articulador la tensión entre deseo, cultura y libertad y sus consecuencias para las investigaciones económicas.
Utilitarianism constitutes the basic moral philosophy on which marginalist economic theory is built, which, at least for now, remains the mainstream in the disciplinary field. Different perspectives have objected its validity, denying that utilitarianism adequately reflects the intersubjective reality that is put into action when producing economic phenomena. However, the criticism that can be deduced of Hegel’s philosophical system, namely his philosophy of the subjective Spirit, is less well known. This work compares these two moral philosophies taking as the articulating axis the tension between desire, culture and freedom, and its consequences for economic research.
