En el presente trabajo se ha estudiado la infraestructura para el transporte diseñada para América del Sur, en el marco de la sustentabilidad ambiental. Para ello se ha realizado una búsqueda, recopilación y posterior análisis de fuentes primarias y secundarias y de diversos documentos internacionales, con el fin de indagar cual ha sido la distribución de los proyectos prioritarios seleccionados por los Estados en función de los modos de transporte. Se ha considerado como punto de partida que: en el marco de la infraestructura para el transporte diseñada para América del Sur, la sustentabilidad ambiental, explícitamente receptada en las discursividades oficiales, se encuentra relativizada en la praxis. La predominancia de proyectos de infraestructura para el transporte carretero sobre los otros modos como el ferroviario o el fluvio-marítimo, indica tal relatividad.
In this paper the importance of the environmental sustainability in the transport infrastructure designed for South America has been estudied. It has been necessary to carry out a search, collection and posterior analysis of several international documents, to considerate how the priority projects selected by the States have been distributed according to the means of transport. As a starting point, it has been considered that: in the framework of the present transport infrastructure for South America, the environmental sustainability, explicitly on receipt in the official speeches, is relative on the praxis. The predominance of projects road transport infrastructure over the other means, such us rail or fluvial-sea transport indicated this relativity.
