Este texto explica algunos hechos básicos de la situación del Medio Oriente tras los ataques del 11 de septiembre. La violencia previa producto de las políticas represivas del gobierno israelí y su respuesta palestina, la Intifada, llevaron a la región a una ascendente espiral de terrorismo y extremismos que tiene efectos sobre esta región del planeta. El ataque a Estados Unidos comprometen a los actores árabes en la lucha contra el terrorismo aunque con visiones particulares de medios y objetivos de la misma.
The paper explains some basic facts of the situation in the Middle East after the attacks of September 11th. The previous violence exercised by the Israeli government and the Palestine reaction, the Intifada, lead the region to a cycle of terrorism, extremism that is affecting the entire world. The attack to USA compromises the Arab actors in the fight against terrorism even tough when they have different views of the means and objectives.
