Este artículo pretende abordar los conceptos de espacio y de tiempo sin brindar definiciones acabadas al respecto, sino, más bien, dando cuenta de los recurrentes empleos confusos del término y, de esta manera, hacer evidente la necesidad de alcanzar algunos acuerdos básicos. Cada época ha desarrollado su propia manera de construcción espacial y el arte, en todas sus disciplinas, tiene la capacidad inmanente de ficcionalizar con gran hondura las nociones de tiempo y de espacio. En arte, podemos aproximar que el espacio es aquel que construye el artista. La división clásica que distinguía de manera taxativa artes temporales y artes espaciales pierde fuerza al abordar las obras contemporáneas. La espacialidad musical, por ejemplo, revisa los hábitos lógicos y obliga a un esfuerzo de comprensión extremo. La imagen fija es dinámica y temporal y las fronteras tradicionales que la deslindaron resultan evanescentes.
The aim of this article is to deal with the concepts of space and time without providing exhaustive definitions but accounting for the recurring and confusing uses of these words and, therefore, giving evidence of the necessity of reaching a basic agreement. Each era has developed its own way of space construction and art, in all its disciplines, has the immanent ability to fictionalize in depth the notions of time and space. In art, we can approximate that space is that which is built by the artist. The classic division that would exhaustively distinguish between temporary art and spatial art weakens when approaching contemporary works. Music spatiality, for example, reviews the logical habits and demands an extreme effort of understanding. The fixed image is dynamic and temporary, and the traditional borders that used to define it are evanescent.
