Sesenta años atrás, la carrera de Diseño vivía sus tiempos fundacionales. Un momento histórico en el que no se dudaba que era posible la formación integral de diseñadores, presuntamente capaces de resolver por sí solos una gran diversidad de problemas vinculados a producir elementos, a la vez, utilitarios y significativos para sus destinatarios, en suma, producir la cultura material de base tecnológica de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. La creciente complejidad de las problemáticas resolubles mediante diseño, impone hoy la necesidad de orientaciones profesionales. Este artículo analiza el papel de la formación profesional para la interacción interdisciplinaria frente a problemas complejos.
Sixty years ago, the Design career lived its founding times. A historical moment in which there was no doubt that the comprehensive training of designers was possible, presumably capable of solving by themselves a great diversity of problems linked to producing elements that are both utilitarian and significant for their recipients, in short, to produce the technology-based material culture of the second half of the 20th century. The growing complexity of problems that can be solved by design, today imposes the need for professional orientations. This article analyzes the role of professional training for the interdisciplinary interaction in the face of complex problems.
