Diplomystes viedmensi mesembrinus nov. ssp. was caught in the Senguer River, lat. 45° 60' S. It differs in many ways from the two known geographical races, especially in the meristic proportions of the head, mouth, premaxilar, maxilar, dorsal, interdorsal space and adipose. It is perhaps a more evoluted form.
