Este artículo se ocupa del estudio de la inmigración a la Argentina a través de testimonios orales. Plantea la posibilidad de lograr "datos primarios" con el uso de estos testimonios y también cuál es el vínculo entre el protagonista y el investigador y el de ambos con la sociedad en la que están inmersos. Sostiene que la relación entre informante y entrevistador y los efectos que sobre ambos ejercen los cambios sociotemporales, incluso los del mundo académico, afectan a la información misma, que no deja de ser por esto valiosa y la única de la que disponemos en el caso del inmigrante común.
This contribution deals with the use of oral restimony for rhe study of immigration to Argentina. The possibiliry of obtaining "primary data" through the use of oral tesnimony is purforward. The relationship of the protagonist to the interviewer and ofboth ro the society in which rhey live is discussed. It is argued that the relationship of the informant to the interviewer and rhe effects exercised on both by socio-remporal changes, including those of rhe academic world, alfect the information itself This information is nevertheless valuable and is the only one available in the case of the ordinary immigranl.
