Cercamientos y derechos comunales en la Inglaterra del siglo XII: Un abordaje historiográfico en torno al Estatuto de Merton (1236)

El siguiente trabajo intenta un abordaje general de las diversas interpretaciones relativas a un documento del siglo XIII, el Estatuto de Merton (1236). El contexto que preside este abordaje fueron las transformaciones del sistema económico feudal y, en sus aspectos específicos, apunta a reconsiderar el proceso de cercamiento en la Inglaterra de aquel siglo. A pesar de que muchas investigaciones planteen el origen de las enclosures en los siglos XV y XVI, el Estatuto estaría atestiguando su presencia anterior. El presente trabajo procura reflexionar sobre las producciones historiográficas que se han realizado en relación al tema. El estudio de este notable documento adquiere importancia para analizar los antecedentes de la transición del feudalismo al capitalismo.
The following paper attempts a general approach to the various interpretations of a document of the thirteenth century, the Statute of Merton (1236). The context that presides over this approach were the transformations of the Economic feudal system, and specifically it aspects, aims to rethink the process of enclosure in England in that century. Although much research to pursue the origin of the enclosures in the XV and XVI, the Statute will be attesting to their former presence. The present work aims to relect on historiographical productions that have been made in relationship to the subject. The study of this remarkable document becomes important to analyze the background of the transition from feudalism to capitalism.
