Formación letrada virreinal y circulación regional: los casos de Gregorio Tagle y Pedro José Agrelo

Gregorio Tagle y Pedro José Agrelo fueron dos letrados de activa participación política en el territorio rioplatense a inicios del siglo XIX. Compartieron estudios en Buenos Aires y luego fueron a diferentes universidades. Dada su continuidad en el gobierno revolucionario rioplatense, es relevante estudiar su formación educativa durante el periodo virreinal y la circulación regional realizada durante su formación. Para ello se estudiará su presencia en el Colegio San Carlos de Buenos Aires, en la Universidad de Chuquisaca y en la Universidad San Felipe (Chile). Se analizarán las características de ambas instituciones educativas y las influencias que ellas habrían tenido en sus personas, no solo desde lo curricular sino también desde lo relacional. Se entiende que Tagle y Agrelo fueron formados bajo los estándares borbónicos, pero asociaron esa formación a una red vincular familiar que les permitiría circular por distintas regiones. De forma tal que los vínculos comerciales y asociativos familiares se vinculan estrechamente a sus posibilidades de residir en tal región para poder recibir la educación de las instituciones de ese espacio. Las fuentes para ello serán la documentación oficial de las instituciones educativas, conservadas en el Archivo General de la Nación Argentina y en recopilaciones documentales.
Gregorio Tagle and Pedro José Agrelo were two lawyers with active political participation in the River Plate territory at the beginning of the 19th century. They shared studies in Buenos Aires and then went to different universities. Given their continuity in the River Plate revolutionary government, it is relevant to study their educational formation during the colonial period and the regional circulation carried out. In order to do so, their presence will be studied at the Colegio San Carlos in Buenos Aires, at the University of Chuquisaca and at the Universidad San Felipe (Chile). The characteristics of these educational institutions and the influences that they would have had on students will be analyzed, not only from the curricular point of view but also from the relational point of view. It is understood that Tagle and Agrelo were trained under the Bourbon standards, but they associated that training with a family network that would allow them to circulate through different regions. Therefore, commercial and associative family ties are closely linked to their possibilities of residing in that region in order to receive education from the institutions of that space. The sources for this study will be the official documentation of the educational institutions, preserved in the General Archive of the Argentine Nation and in documentary compilations.
