Inversión socio-política en la corte imperial de Calígula

Resumen: a partir del año 40, y como consecuencia de un contexto altamente conflictivo, Calígula provocó una reestructuración del núcleo de la corte imperial (aula Caesaris). Este movimiento, tenía por principal objeto garantizar la seguridad personal del emperador tras la crisis provocada por el descubrimiento de una conspiración en el verano-otoño del 39. Esta reestructuración provocó el ascenso de individuos de estrato social y jurídico subalterno o ajenos a la aristocracia romana ecuestre o senatorial. A partir de este momento, esclavos y libertos imperiales y reyes clientes orientales acreditaron una gran influencia en la corte. Esto a su vez, tuvo una serie de consecuencias socio-políticas a destacar y que son necesarias tomar en consideración para comprender la orientación del relato de aquellos testimonios, en su mayor parte de raigambre aristocrática, que nos han legado la imagen negativa que comúnmente conocemos del joven emperador.
Abstract: since AD 40, and as a consequence of highly confilctive background, Caligula made a reestructuration of the center of the imperial court (aula Caesaris). This movement had the aim of guarantee the personal security of the emperor after the crisis motivated by the discovery of a complot in summet-autum 39. This restructuration provoked the rise of low social-juridical status individuals beside the roman ecuestrian or senatorial aristocracy. Since then, imperial slaves and freedmen, and oriental client kings achieved a great influence at court. This situation, meantime, had several socio-political consequences that we must take in consideration for understand the course of the narrative of those testimonies, mostly aristocratic, that has transmited us the negative image that we commonly know about the young emperor.
