La larga agonía de un radicalismo en crisis : adaptación, rupturas y doblegaje de la UCR en la era macrista

Resumen: En este trabajo se busca analizar la situación crítica en la que se encuentra un centenario –y otrora mayoritario- partido político argentino, la Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), luego de la conformación de la alianza Cambiemos, con el PRO y la Coalición Cívica. Este acuerdo electoral fue celebrado en 2015, el objetivo de respaldar al actual mandatario Mauricio Macri, quien por entonces era el opositor al kirchnerismo más competitivo. Aquí buscaremos mostrar que el acuerdo con el PRO implicó una claudicación principista por parte de los radicales, quienes terminaron consintiendo pretensiones contrarias a su carta orgánica e incongruentes con su tradición política; que la dejaron en una situación de subordinación, habiendo sido prácticamente neutralizada dentro de la estructura de Cambiemos.
Abstract: This paper seeks to analyze the critical situation of a centenary -and once-majority- Argentine political party, the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), after the formation of the alliance Cambiemos, with the PRO and the Civic Coalition parties. This electoral agreement was celebrated in 2015, in order to support the current president Mauricio Macri, who at that time was the most competitive opponent of Kirchnerism. Here we will try to show that the agreement with the PRO implied a principled backing down by the radicals, who ended up consenting to ambitions that were contrary to their charter and incongrous with their political tradition; that left the party in subordination, having been practically abosorbed into the structure of Cambiemos.
