Resumen: Ciertas importantes correspondencias formales entre el interludio de los capítulos 98 y 99 d e las Sergas de Esplandián de Garci Rodríguez de Montalvo y la aventura de la Cueva de Montesino s en la segunda parte del Quijote han sido convenientemente apuntadas por la crítica con vistas a l a postulación de una relación hipertextual entre ambos episodios . Nos proponemos nosotros, sin des - conocer dichas similitudes formales, avanzar en otras de índole funcional, apuntando al sentid o análogo que las formas de ambos episodios entendidos como microtextos adquieren en el seno d e sus macrotextos, en cuanto pautan de similar manera la evolución de los respectivos héroes y pos - tulan ideas equivalentes acerca de las relaciones entre lo real-histórico y lo ficcional-literario, con - figurándose al cabo como los lugares simbólicos de un choque de dos mundos .
Abstract: Between the interlude of chapters 98 and 99 of Garci Rodríguez de Montalvo's Sergas de Esplandián and the adventures of the cave of Montesinos in the second part of the Quixote there have been found certain important formal correspondences, already pointed out by the critics in order to show a hipertextual relation between both episodes. Without ignoring those similarities , we intend here to highlight other resemblances of a functional order, trying to focus on the analogous sense that both episodes considered as microtexts acquire in relation to their macrotext . We believe that they both structure the evolution of their heroes in similar way, and that they affirm equivalent ideas regarding the relation between the real-historical and the fictional-literary, finally configuring a symbol of the contrast between two worlds.
