Marxismo y tradición en A. MacIntyre. El problema de la falibilidad y la justificación racional

En el presente trabajo se analiza la conexión existente entre la etapa marxista de juventud y la neoa ristotélica de madurez en el pensamiento de Alasdair MacIntyre, enfatizando el problema que representa para él la posibilidad de criticar y justificar racionalmente una teoría moral. A través de una lectura comparativa de obras de ambos períodos se muestra cómo la incapacidad para dar una respuesta satisfactoria a esta preocu pación temprana es una de las razones que llevan al abandono de la tradición marxista, y cómo su formulación aristotélica madura busca superar esta dificultad, manteniendo constantes otros presupuestos y compromisos teóricos previos.
In this paper I analyze the connection between the Marxist period of youth and the mature neo-Aristotelian one in the thought of Alasdair MacIntyre, emphasizing the problem posed by the possibility of criticizing and rationally justifying a moral theory. Through a comparative reading of works from both periods I show how the inability to offer a satisfactory solution to this early concern in one of the reasons that lead him to abandon the Marxist tradition, and how the mature Aristotelian formulation seeks to overcome this difficulty, while keeping other premises and previous theoretical commitments.
