The following article presents a journey on the construction of the historical and identity representations of the Rio Negro provincial past based on the very varied museum exhibitions that are scattered throughout the provincial territory and are complemented by other cultural practices and assets that make up the regional cultural heritage.From the survey of the museums that are part of the Rio Negro cultural offer and in particular from the selection that we present in this article, different dimensions of museum institutions are addressed, such as the underlying heritage perspective; the chronologies proposed in the stories and narratives of the scripts; the link between nature and culture; the treatment of the indigenous legacy and the presentation of the Military Campaign of 1879, among others. El siguiente artículo presenta un recorrido sobre la construcción de las representaciones históricas e identitarias del pasado provincial rionegrino a partir de las muy variadas exposiciones museísticas que se encuentran dispersas en el territorio provincial y se complementan con otras prácticas y bienes culturales que conforman el patrimonio cultural regional. A partir del relevamiento de los museos que son parte de la oferta cultural rionegrina y en particular de la selección que presentamos en este artículo, se abordan diferentes dimensiones de las instituciones museísticas tales como la perspectiva patrimonial subyacente; las cronologías propuestas en los relatos y narrativas de los guiones; la vinculación entre naturaleza y cultura; el tratamiento del legado indígena y la presentación de la Campaña Militar de 1879, entre otros. A través de un análisis crítico de las colecciones se busca interpretar las representaciones enunciadas en torno a la construcción y usos del pasado que ponen en juego estos espacios destinados a conservar la memoria, la identidad y la historia provincial, en el marco de los debates del patrimonio que se desarrollan en el presente.
