En las ciudades de La Leonesa y las Palmas del Departamento Bermejo, Provincia del Chaco, la población expresa su reclamo por el uso de agroquímicos producto del avance de la agricultura basada en arroz, soja, algodón, y otros. Los reclamos surgen al observar un incremento en los casos de cáncer en la zona que son atribuidos a la aplicación de fumigaciones aéreas con glifosato y otros productos en cercanías de las ciudades enunciadas y en barrios lindantes con la zona rural. La problemática relacionada con el uso de los plaguicidas es compleja y dinámica e incluye varios actores con distintos intereses y posturas. En el presente se identifican evidencias científicas que vinculan la utilización y exposición de plaguicidas con la aparición de síntomas de intoxicación agudos y el desarrollo de enfermedades de tipo crónico. El objetivo general de este trabajo es analizar como el uso de agroquímicos y sus efectos son percibidos por la población de las localidades de La Leonesa y Las Palmas. Este trabajo intentará dar respuesta al siguiente interrogante: ¿Cuál es la percepción de la población de La Leonesa y Las Palmas acerca de los riesgos para la salud humana y el ambiente derivado del uso de agroquímicos? Una vez definido y delimitado el tema se realizó al relevamiento bibliográfico y estadístico de fuentes oficiales para la obtención de datos sobre el tema objeto de estudio, se ejecutó su selección, análisis e interpretación, para ello se realizaron encuestas a los diferentes actores sociales que forman parte de este entramado para dar respuesta al interrogante planteado. El trabajo, se estructura en diversos apartados comenzando con la presentación del problema, la caracterización ambiental del área, la descripción de los agroquímicos más utilizados en el área de estudio. La exposición de la normativa vigente en el tema en la escala nacional y provincial, así como también la identificación de la percepción acerca de las implicancias de los agroquímicos en la salud de la población y aplicación al estudio de caso de las ciudades enunciadas.
In the cities of La Leonesa and Las Palmas of the Department of Bermejo, Province of Chaco, the population expresses its demand for the use of agrochemicals as a result of the advance of agriculture based on rice, soybeans, cotton, and others. The complaints arise when we observe an increase in the cases of cancer in the area that are attributed to the application of aerial fumigations with glyphosate and other products in the neighborhoods of the enunciated cities and neighborhoods bordering the rural area. The problematic related to the use of pesticides is complex and dynamic and includes several actors with different interests and positions. At present, scientific evidences are identified that link the use and exposure of pesticides with the appearance of symptoms of acute intoxication and the development of chronic diseases. The general objective of this work is to analyze how the use of agrochemicals and its effects are perceived by the population of the towns of La Leonesa and Las Palmas. This work will try to answer the following question: What is the perception of the population of La Leonesa and Las Palmas about the risks to human health and the environment derived from the use of agrochemicals? Once the subject was defined and delimited, a bibliographic and statistical survey of official sources was carried out to obtain data on the subject under study, its selection, analysis and interpretation was carried out, for which surveys were carried out to the different social actors that form part of this network to answer the question posed. The work is structured in different sections starting with the presentation of the problem, the environmental characterization of the area, the description of the most used agrochemicals in the study area. The exposition of current regulations on the subject at the national and provincial level, as well as the identification of the perception about the implications of agrochemicals on the health of the population and application to the case study of the cities mentioned.
