Universalization and inclusion : policies, issues and challenges of Argentine education

From a comparative perspective, this paper seeks to analyze recent educational policy developments in Argentina and the strategies pursued to meet the objectives proposed by educational legislation enacted since 2005. This new regulatory framework became the focal point that oriented advances in social and educational policies from an approach focused on fulfilling the right to education. This presentation is divided in three sections. First, it provides a general overview of the current situation of the Argentine education, identifying and highlighting the reconfigurations of the educational system. Second, it addresses persistent and recent educational issues. Finally, the paper discusses the social and educational actions, plans, programs, and projects, as well as the main governmental strategies to generate and/or sustain educational experiences of children, adolescents, and young people.
