El objetivo de este ensayo fue evaluar el efecto de una alimentación diferencial sobre el peso de corderos lactantes y sus madres pastoreando un verdeo de avena (Avena sativa). Fueron utilizadas 4 ovejas con 7 corderos como testigo sin acceso al creep feeding (CF) (grupo No Suplementados [NS]) y 8 ovejas con 11 corderos con acceso al CF con alimento proteico (Grupo Suplementados [S]). No hubo diferencias significativas (P>0,05) entre tratamientos en el peso de los corderos al nacimiento ni al final del ensayo. Respecto a las madres, no hubo diferencias significativas (P>0,05) entre tratamientos (S; NS), pero las del grupo S tuvieron una tendencia a ganar más peso que las del grupo NS.
The objective of this trial was to evaluate the effect of differential feeding on the weight of lactating lambs and their mothers grazing a green field of oats (Avena sativa). 4 ewes with 7 lambs were used as controls without access to creep feeding (CF) (Non-Supplemented group [NS]) and 8 ewes with 11 lambs with access to CF with protein food (Supplemented group [S]). There were no significant differences (P>0.05) between treatments in the weight of the lambs at birth or at the end of the trial. Regarding mothers, there were no significant differences (P>0.05) between treatments (S; NS), but those in the S group had a tendency to gain more weight than those in the NS group.
