Shortcut Procedure for Inverted Batch Distillation Column. I Multicomponent Ideal System

- A model for batch stripping distillation is presented, equivalent to the Fenske - Underwood - Gillilang model for continuous distillation. Given a separation task, we propose to compute the minimun number of trays and reflux ratio to perform the separation by batch stripping distillation. Then, it is shown that the performance of real columns with a finite given number of trays N and reflux ratio R, can be represented by a Guilliland type correlation, as a function of the minimum values of N and R.
