En el presente artículo se trabajará con The Fat Black Woman’s Poems de la au- tora guyanesa Grace Nichols, se ofrece- rá un punto de vista que permite integrar cuerpo y espacio desde una perspectiva feminista. Se mostrará que la poesía de Nichols se construye mediante tensio- nes de sentido que hacen convivir el Ca- ribe, el Reino Unido y África, en las que cada región se halla latente en la otra.
In this article, we will analyze The Fat Black Woman’s Poems, by Guyanese author Grace Nichols, a different point of view will be offered that will allow us to integrate body and space from a feminist perspective. We will show that Nichols’ poetry is built by tensions of meaning that bring the Caribbean, the UK and Africa to coexist in a space where each region is latent in the other.
