GGA Recombination rates bin 2.5 Mb

- SC spreads for measurements and MLH1 counts were obtained from six females of G. domesticus (white layer breed, H&N International). Measurements and MLH1 focus counts were done on composite images of immunostained SCs, centromeres, and MLH1 foci. Complete SC sets were used to obtain the number of foci per cell and for the largest autosomal bivalents. To build the frequency histograms of MLH1 foci, distances between each focus and the centromere were recorded using the program MicroMeasure 3.3.
