El objetivo del siguiente trabajo es esclarecer la noción de institución de un sentimiento que Merleau-Ponty expone en sus Notes de Cours au Collège de France 1954-1955 y en los Résumés de cours correspondientes al mismo período. Para describir la institución de un sentimiento tomaremos el caso ejemplar del amor y, en particular, del amor de Swann descrito por Proust en À recherche du temps perdu. Du côté de chez Swann. Para llevar adelante dicha tarea primero intentaremos delinear la noción central de institución y, luego, nos avocaremos a trazar los principales aspectos de la institución del amor a la luz de las notas de Merleau-Ponty e ilustrando cada característica con la novela de Marcel Proust.
The aim of the following article is to examine the notion of the institution of a feeling, as presented by Merleau-Ponty in his Course Notes from the Collège de France(1954-1955), using love as an example; we will more specifically analyze Swann’s love, described by M. Proust. In order to achieve our aim, we will first try to delimit the core notion of institution. We will then outline the main aspects in the institution of love and compare both of the authors’ visions.
