En este breve trabajo analizamos el modo en el que el bestialismo está planteado en los tratados de Sanedrín y Avodá Zará del Talmud de Babilonia, enfatizando la mirada rabínica en torno al comportamiento de los gentiles y los judíos. Mientras que para estos simplemente se establece un marco legal penando la práctica, los gentiles son recurrentemente señalados como propensos al bestialismo. Esta distinción entre grupos responde a las habituales estrategias tardoantiguas de deslegitimación del adversario religioso y no a una diversa aproximación hacia la sexualidad por parte de los colectivos religiosos.
In this paper I analyze the way in which bestiality is seen in the tractates of Sanhedrin and Avodah Zarah of the Babylonian Talmud, emphasizing the rabbinical point of view on the behavior of Gentiles and Jews. While in the case of Jews only a legal framework penalizing the practice is established, Gentiles are recurrently shown as prone to bestiality. This distinction between groups responds to common late ancient strategies of de-legitimation of the religious adversary and not the religious groups’ different approaches to sexuality.
