Este escrito se ocupa de los vínculos entre el terror y el humor en la primera novela de Alberto Laiseca: Su turno, publicada por primera vez en 1976.Previo al análisis dela novela, deslindo qué se entiende por “terror” y qué por “humor”. La hipótesis central consiste en que esta novela oscila entre el terror y el humor mediante el uso de la hipérbole. A pesar de que algunas escenas y tópicos parecen remitir a la violencia estatal y paraestatal de los primeros años 70, Su turno dista de ser una narración de carácter realista o siquiera de denuncia.
This writing will deal with the links between terror and humor in Alberto Laiseca’s first novel, Su turno, published for the first time in 1976. Previous to the analysis of the the novel, I establish what will be understood by “terror” and which by “humor”. The central hypothesis is that this novel oscilates between terror and humor through the use of hyperbole. Despite the fact that some scenes and topics seem to refer to state and parastatal violence in the early 1970s, Su turno is far from being a novel of a realistic nature or denunciation.
