El presente artículo analiza la importancia de la figura del "katéchon" en la obra filosófica de Giorgio Agamben. El punto de partida está constituido por una exégesis de esta figura escatológica en el corpus textual de Pablo de Tarso de acuerdo con la polémica implícita entre Giorgio Agamben y Massimo Caccari respecto de su significado histórico. Asimismo, se lleva adelante una arqueología del "katéchon" en los textos de la Patrística y se consideran los descubrimientos de la filología bíblica con el fin de comprender mejor la interpretación agambeniana. Finalmente, se comparan las hermenéuticas de Giorgio Agamben y Slavoj Zizek respecto del mesianismo paulino y su importancia para la política contemporánea.
The following article analyses the importance of the katéchon figure in Giorgio Agamben’s philosophical works. The starting point results from an exegesis of this eschatological figure in the textual corpus of Paul of Tarsus according to the implicit polemics between Giorgio Agamben and Massimo Cacciari regarding its historical meaning. Besides, an archaeology of the katéchon in the Patristic texts is carried out as well as the discoveries of the biblical philology are taken into consideration in order to better understand Agamben’s interpretation. Finally, a comparison is made between Giorgio Agamben and Slavoj Žižek’s hermeneutics regarding Pauline messianism and its importance for contemporary politics.
