En territorio demoníaco. Peter Sloterdijk y el problema de la violencia religiosa: unilateralidad, fundamentalismo y “membresía total” en los monoteísmos

Este artículo analizará la relación entre monoteísmo y violencia en la perspectiva desplegada por Peter Sloterdijk en Fobocracia, traducción al español de Im Schatten des Sinai publicado originalmente en el año 2013. En un primer momento, se argumentará que el problema de la violencia religiosa se enmarca al interior de una problemática largamente trabajada en escritos previos de Sloterdijk: la unilateralidad de la acción, asociada por el pensador tanto a los grandes relatos de la modernidad “hiperactiva” como a la lógica “fobocrática” de los atentados terroristas. En un segundo momento, se procederá a delimitar las coordenadas inter-textuales específicas que, a partir del año 2006, subyacen al abordaje sloterdijkiano del fundamentalismo religioso. Esto implica no solo identificar los interlocutores con los que discute el filósofo alemán, sino también las relaciones íntimas que Fobocracia tiene con dos textos anteriores del autor: Celo de Dios. Sobre la lucha de los tres monoteísmos, de 2006, y Has de cambiar tu vida. Sobre antropotécnica, de 2009. En un tercer momento se examinará la arquitectura interna del ensayo de 2013 a través del concepto de “membresía total”. Finalmente, a modo de conclusión se esbozará un balance general de la temática propuesta.
This article will analyze the relationship between monotheism and violence from the perspective deployed by Peter Sloterdijk in In the shadow of Mount Sinai, originally published in 2013. At first, we will argue that the problem of religious violence is framed within a largely worked problem in previous Sloterdijk's writings: the unilateralism of the action, associated by the thinker both with the great narratives of “hyperactive” modernity and with the “phobocratic” logic of terrorist attacks. In a second moment, we will proceed to delimit the specific intertextual coordinates that, since 2006, underlie the Sloterdijkian approach to religious fundamentalism. This implies not only identifying the interlocutors with whom the German philosopher argues, but also the intimate relationships that In the shadow of Mount Sinai has with two previous texts by the author: God’s Zeal. The Battle of the three monotheisms, of 2007, and You must change your life. On Anthropotechnics, of 2009. Thirdly, we will examine the inner architecture of the 2013 essay through the concept of “total membership”. Finally, as a conclusion, we will outline a general balance of the proposed theme.
