De Toussaint Louverture a Joseph-Anténor Firmin: Dos expresiones en la lucha por la libertad y la igualdad en Haití

Desde la perspectiva de la Historia de las Ideas se analizan dos momentos de la lucha por la libertad y la igualdad en Haití. El primero gira en torno a la figura de Toussaint Luoverture y es trabajado a partir de dos documento claves para la comprensión de su pensamiento: la Constitución que mandó redactar en 1801 para organizar la vida y la producción de Saint Domingue, y la Memoria de Toussaint Louverture, escrita por él mismo, cuya primera publicación es de 1853, por M. Saint Remi. El segundo momento tiene como figura central a Joseph-Anténor Firmin y su obra Sobre la igualdad de las razas humanas, con la que refuta las tesis racialistas del Conde de Gobineau.
The perspective of the philosophical ideas of history allows us to analyze two events in the struggle for liberty and equality in Haiti. The first focuses on the image of Toussaint Louverture and is based on two key documents that helps to understand his thoughts: the first known as the Constitution that he commissioned in 1801 to bring order to the life and economic output of Sain Domingue; the second was Toussaint Louverture´s Memories written by Louverture himself and first published in 1853 by M. Saint Remi. The second event focuses on both Joseph-Anténor Firmin as a central image and his work About the equality of human races, which refutes Count de Gobineau´s racist thesis.
