Las reducciones jesuíticas del sur del Imperio Español: los conflictos fronterizos y el accionar misional, 1742-1753

Este trabajo se propone analizar el proceso de formación, funcionamiento y disolución de las misiones que los sacerdotes de la Compañía de Jesús fundaron en el espacio pampeano, en la frontera sur de la ciudad de Buenos Aires. Para ello, en primer lugar, daremos cuenta de los principales análisis historiográficos en torno a las misiones jesuíticas pampeanas, los problemas abordados y las interpretaciones propuestas. Luego, en aras de desarrollar un análisis procesual, colocaremos el énfasis en la coyuntura abierta por la celebración de las paces del Casuhati, en 1742, con vistas a profundizar en los momentos de mayor conflicto entre los distintos actores sociales involucrados en el funcionamiento de las misiones: los sacerdotes jesuitas, el gobierno colonial residente y las diferentes parcialidades nativas del espacio pampeano, con especial énfasis en la figura del cacique Bravo Cangapol.
This paper proposes the analysis of the process of formation, operation and dissolution of the missions what the priests of the Society of Jesus they founded in the space of Pampas, in the south frontier of Buenos Aires city. For that, on first place, we will do an explanation about the main historiographic analysis around the jesuit missions of the Pampas, the studied problems and the interpretations proposed. Later, for the sake of develop a procedural study, we will put the emphasis in the conjuncture opened for the celebration of the Casuhati paces, in 1742, with the objective of deepen in the moments of major conflict between the different social actors involved in the operation of the missions: jesuit priests, resident colonial government and the different native groups of the space of the Pampas, with special attention on the shape of the cacique Bravo Cangapol.
