La animalización en Hexamerón: La relación persona/aves en la antropología moral de Ambrosio de Milán

Los pájaros en Hexamerón, de Ambrosio de Milán, revelan con claridad el lazo conceptual entre animal y ser humano que permite desplegar tanto un discurso moral efectivo como un testimonio de la complementariedad entre individuo e instituciones. El alma sensible de los pájaros se manifiesta en sus comportamientos, que son individuales pero tienen implicaciones sociales: volar, cantar y nadar son actividades corporales, pero con una finalidad trascendente que, además, repercute en la vida de sus familias y sus bandadas. Es así que la analogía que establece el predicador no exige una renuncia total al cuerpo, sino su consagración a los actos sublimes del alma. En pocas palabras, la representación de las aves en Hexamerón ofrece una de las clavesinterpretativas de la antropología moral que postula Ambrosio en todos sus tratados exegéticos. Por ello, este artículo se ocupa de revisar los rasgos y los sentidos de algunas especies del ámbito aviar en el tratado sobre los seis días de la creación, a partir del análisis filológico de las secciones pertinentes del octavo sermón, con el objetivo de poner de relieve y explicar el valor cristianode las alegorías entre el comportamiento y los sentimientos de aves y seres humanos y sus relaciones con el mundo antiguo.
The birds in Hexameron by Ambrose of Milan clearly reveal the conceptual link between animal and human being that allows to display both an effective moral discourse and a testimony of the complementarity between individual and institutions. The sensitive soul of birds is manifested in their behaviours, which are individual but also have social implications: flying, singing, and swimming are bodily activities with a transcendent purpose that, in addition, have an impact on the lives of their families and their flocks. Thus, the analogy established by the preacher does not demand a total renunciation of the body but its consecration to the sublime acts of the soul. In short, the representation of birds in Hexameron offers one of the interpretive keys of moral anthropology that Ambrose postulates in all his exegetical treatises. For this reason, this paper deals with reviewing the features and meanings of some species of the avian sphere in the treatise on the six days of creation, based on the philological analysis of the relevant sections of the eighth sermon, with the aim of revealing and explaining the Christian value of the allegories between the behaviour and feelings of birds and human beings and their relationships with ancient world.
