On the small-amplitude approximation to the differential equation €x þ ð1 þ x_ 2Þx ¼ 0

We obtain the small-amplitude expansion for the period of the nonlinear oscillator €x þ ð1 þ x_ 2Þx ¼ 0 with the initial conditions xð0Þ ¼ A and x_ð0Þ ¼ 0, calculate its radius of convergence and show that the inverted perturbation series appears to converge smoothly from below.
