Intimidades públicas: Experiencia estudiantil y normatividad sexo genérica en las instituciones universitarias

Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de las formas en que las regulaciones sociales en torno a las expresiones e identidades de género y sexualidad se configuran en la vida cotidiana universitaria. La hipótesis que se sostiene es que estas regulaciones se producen no sólo por las representaciones disponibles en el orden cultural imperante sino también por la acción de las culturas institucionales, del conocimiento disciplinar impartido y de la sociabilidad propia de cada institución. El análisis se detiene en los usos y apropiaciones del espacio que realizan los estudiantes de las facultades de Psicología y de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, especialmente en los baños y en las fiestas, que permiten comprender, de un modo más general, las reconfiguraciones entre los espacios público y privado, las tensiones entre la construcción de subjetividad y la normatividad institucional, las articulaciones entre las culturas institucionales y las culturas juveniles y las particularidades epocales que asume en la actualidad la universidad pública.
This paper focuses on the analysis of the ways social regulations around gender expressions and identities and sexuality are configured in the daily university life. The hypothesis that sustains this article is that regulations are produced not only by the available representations of the hegemonic cultural order, but also by the action of the institutional cultures, disciplinary knowledge imparted and the particular sociability of each institution. The analysis is focused on the uses and appropriations of the space that are made by students in the Faculty of Psychology and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Exact Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. Especially, the rest rooms and parties allowed me to understand, in a general way, the reconfigurations between both, the public and private spaces, the tensions between the constructions of subjectivities and the institutional normativity, the articulations between institutional cultures and juvenile cultures, and the contemporary particularities of the Public University.
