Diferentes funciones del rol del psicólogo en el quehacer de la clínica con pacientes oncológicos pediátricos

Cuando se piensa en la clínica de niños/adolescentes con cáncer debemos considerar el entrecruzamiento de diferentes discursos que se pondrán en juego: parental, escolar, judicial, médico, entre otros. Es así que en este entrecruzamiento, estarán presentes lo real del cuerpo enfermo, el impacto que provoca en la familia la enfermedad del niño, el imaginario social que ella trae en relación al cáncer infantil, las especificidades del discurso médico con respecto a la enfermedad y lo que un tratamiento oncológico implica. La pregunta sería: ¿cómo pensar allí la particularidad del rol del psicólogo, en esta clínica? ¿Qué atravesamientos particulares se darán y cómo pensar el rol y función del psicólogo en esta coyuntura? Este trabajo dará cuenta de las posibles funciones que el psicólogo podrá desempeñar en la intervención con niños y adolescentes con cáncer, tanto desde la institución hospitalaria como desde el trabajo que se realiza en la Fundación Creando Lazos, organización sin fines de lucro dedicada a la atención integral del niño y adolescente con cáncer y su familia.
When thinking about the clinic of children/adolescents with cancer, we must consider the intertwining of different discourses that will come into play: parental, school, judicial, medical, among others. It is thus that in this intertwining there will be present the real of the sick body, the impact that the disease of the child has on the family, the social imaginary that the disease causes regarding childhood cancer, the medical discourse specificities concerning the disease and the implication of an oncological treatment. The question would be: how to think the singularity of the psychologist’s role, in this clinic? What particular breakthroughs will be given and how to think about the role and function of the psychologist at this juncture? This work will give an account of the possible functions that the psychologist will be able to perform in the intervention with children and adolescents with cancer, both from the hospital institution and from the work carried out in the Creando Lazos Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the care of children and adolescents with cancer and their families.
