This essay will analyze the development and perspectives of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) by the Republic of Korea (henceforth, “Korea") with a focus on the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region. An FTA is defined as an agreement between parties, whether between two countries or with a regional block involved, in which tariffs and trade barriers are eliminated.
