El Espectrógrafo Estelar I es uno de los numerosos instrumentos de la colección del Museo del Observatorio Astronómico de Córdoba (MOA). Este instrumento fue diseñado y construido en el Observatorio a comienzos de 1940, el primero en su tipo con óptica totalmente reflectante. Este aparato, destinado a servir al telescopio de 1.54 metros de la Estación Astrofísica de Bosque Alegre, se constituyó en uno de los logros más notables de la óptica instrumental astronómica argentina. Fue utilizado exitosamente durante varias décadas y posibilitó llevar adelante significativas investigaciones en astronomía estelar. A pesar de su importancia, no se ha encontrado una publicación técnica que trate sobre su historia y diseño, únicamente se realizaron en la época de su construcción algunos pocos artículos con descripciones y comentarios parciales. La investigación desarrollada en el MOA a partir de documentos originales y del análisis del mismo instrumento, ha permitido fijar las razones de su construcción y la historia de su desarrollo, así como varias de sus características constructivas y ópticas, que eran desconocidas hasta ahora.
The Stellar Spectrograph I is one of the several instruments that belongs to the collection of the Córdoba Astronomical Observatory Museum (MOA). This instrument was designed and built at the Observatory in the early 1940s; it was the first with fully reflective optics. This device, intended to work with the 1.54 meter telescope of the Bosque Alegre Astrophysical Station, represented one of the most notable achievements of Argentine astronomical instrumental optics. It was used successfully during many decades; it made it possible to carry out significant research about stellar astronomy. However, no technical publication has been found that deals with its history and design; only a few articles with partial descriptions and comments were made at the time of its construction. The research carried out at the MOA, based on original documents and the analysis of the instrument itself, helped to establish the reasons for its construction, the history of its development, and many of its constructive and optical characteristics, which until now were almost unknown.
