En el presente artículo, el autorreflexiona sobre la vigencia del reconocido texto sobre la historieta del Pato Donald, elaborado por Armand Mattelart y por Ariel Dorfman, en el contexto de las transformaciones sociopolíticas del Chile de los años setenta. «¿Por qué lo seguimos leyendo?», es la pregunta que vertebra una reflexión que toma a esta obra más como un ensayo que como un paper académico, buscando las coordenadas literarias, culturales, sociales y políticas que le dieron origen y que aún en la actualidad le otorgan una vigencia más allá de las discusiones metodológicas y epistémicas.
In this article, the author reflectson the validity of the recognized texton the Donald Duck comic strip, prepared by Armand Mattelart and Ariel Dorfman, in the context of the socio-political transformations of Chile in the 70s. «Why do we keep reading it?», is the question that backs up a reflection that takes this work more as an essay than as an academic paper, seeking the literary, cultural, social and political coordinates that gave rise to it and still today give it a validity beyond the methodological and epistemic discussions.
